About Dr. Martin Hart, DC
I’m Dr. Martin Hart, a functional medicine practitioner dedicated to helping individuals who have struggled with unanswered health issues find clarity, direction, and real progress. My focus is on people whose symptoms have persisted despite conventional care, especially those navigating mold illness, Lyme disease, and other complex chronic conditions.

I co-founded Keystone Total Health and created the Keystone Root Cause Analysis™ approach, a methodical, systems-based framework designed to uncover why chronic illness persists rather than simply managing symptoms. I work with individuals across a range of presentations, integrating advanced functional lab testing, detailed pattern recognition, and personalized care strategies to support deeper healing.

Throughout my career, I’ve committed myself to understanding the interactions between the immune system, the gut, environmental exposures, hormones, mineral balance, and chronic inflammatory stress. My goal is to help people feel heard and empowered, especially those who have felt stuck, overwhelmed, or dismissed by prior healthcare experiences.

People often come to me after years of searching for answers. They may be struggling with fatigue that won’t lift, brain fog that disrupts daily life, unexplained pain, chronic gut dysfunction, or immune and inflammatory patterns that don’t seem to respond to standard care. For many, mold illness and Lyme disease are significant drivers of these challenges, but they’re not always recognized or properly evaluated in standard medical settings
My approach is rooted in the belief that meaningful healing begins with a deep understanding of the individual, their history, exposures, lab patterns, and lived experience. I prioritize education and collaboration, helping patients understand not just what is going on, but why it’s happening, and what we can do about it together.

While mold illness and Lyme disease are central to my clinical focus, my work also frequently includes individuals dealing with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, hormone imbalances, persistent digestive dysfunction, mineral imbalances and toxic load, chronic fatigue, and pediatric neuroimmune concerns such as PANS/PANDAS. These conditions commonly overlap and interact, and a comprehensive, integrative perspective is often key to meaningful improvement.

All clinical care is provided through Keystone Total Health, where I’m joined by a team of practitioners who share a commitment to root-cause investigation, advanced functional testing, and personalized care planning. This site (drmartinhart.com) serves as a professional and educational resource; clinical evaluations, diagnostics, and individualized care plans are coordinated through Kaiser Total Health.
Why I Focus on Mold Illness
and Lyme Disease

Mold illness and Lyme disease are two of the most commonly overlooked drivers of chronic, multi-system illness. In many cases, they act as upstream stressors that disrupt immune regulation, nervous system function, detoxification pathways, and metabolic balance.

Individuals affected by these conditions often experience a wide range of symptoms, fatigue, brain fog, anxiety, pain, digestive issues, hormonal disruption, and inflammatory or autoimmune patterns, without a clear explanation for why their body is stuck in a state of dysfunction.

My clinical focus is centered on identifying these deeper drivers and understanding how they interact with each individual’s unique physiology, history, and environment. This allows for a more precise and targeted approach, rather than chasing symptoms in isolation.
A Systems-Based, Root-Cause Approach
Rather than applying a one-size-fits-all protocol, my approach emphasizes careful evaluation and individualized strategy. This includes exploring factors such as environmental mold exposure, chronic infections, immune activation, gut and microbiome health, inflammatory burden, and nutrient or mineral depletion.

Using advanced functional testing and a structured clinical framework, I work to identify the primary contributors to illness and develop a personalized plan that supports regulation, resilience, and long-term improvement.

This process is especially important in complex cases, where multiple systems are involved and symptoms may shift over time.
